Accessibility Statement

Our target standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

We claim partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. We do not claim full conformance, and we are not accessibility-certified by anyone.

Automated accessibility testing using axe-core reports no violations on the pages tested. We want to be plain about what that does and does not mean:

• Automated tooling catches only a portion of real accessibility problems. A clean automated run is not evidence that a page is usable with assistive technology.
• Many WCAG criteria — whether alternative text is actually meaningful, whether a reading order makes sense, whether an error message is understandable — can only be judged by a person.
• Manual screen-reader testing is not yet complete. We have not finished walking the site end to end with VoiceOver, NVDA, or JAWS, and until we have, we cannot honestly describe the experience for guests who rely on those tools.

• Built pages with semantic HTML — real headings, lists, landmarks, and labelled form fields
• Checked text and interface colors against the WCAG AA contrast thresholds (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and controls) and adjusted brand colors where they fell short
• Kept navigation, the booking flow, and buttons reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator
• Provided text alternatives for images that carry meaning, and hidden purely decorative graphics from assistive technology
• Allowed the page to reflow and remain readable when text is enlarged or the browser window is narrow
• Included automated axe-core checks in our development process so regressions are caught early

These are the limitations we are aware of today:

• Manual assistive-technology testing is pending. A full keyboard-only and screen-reader pass through the booking wizard and gift card purchase flow has not been completed.
• Third-party embeds we do not control. The interactive map on our contact and service-area pages is provided by Mapbox, and the card payment fields in our booking and gift card flows are provided by Stripe. We cannot modify the accessibility of code these vendors serve. If either is difficult for you to use, everything you need is available another way — our full street address is written out in text on the contact page, and you can book an appointment or buy a gift card by calling the salon.
• Older pages and content. Pages we add or update are reviewed before release, but not every page has had the same level of review, and some may not meet our target yet.

If you run into a barrier on this site, or if there is something on the site you cannot reach, please tell us. Your report is the fastest way for us to find and fix a real problem, and we would rather hear about it than not.

If any information on this site is not accessible to you, we will supply it another way — read to you over the phone, sent by email in a plain-text format, or given to you in person at the salon. You can also book an appointment, ask about pricing, or purchase a gift card entirely by phone. There is no charge for this, and you do not need to explain why you are asking.
